Product Overview

LOBA EasyPrime is a water-based polyurethane roller and trowel primer for parquet and wood flooring. It ensures excellent adhesion and a uniform appearance of subsequent waterborne finishes.

🧾  Technical Data & Coverage

• Solids content: approx. 29 ± 2 %.

• Viscosity: 15–18 s (DIN 4).

• Consumption:

  • By roller: approx. 100–120 ml/m² (~8–10 m²/l) with standard roller, or 80–100 ml/m² (~10–12 m²/l) with microfiber roller.

  • By trowel: 1st coat approx. 40 ml/m² (~25 m²/l), 2nd coat approx. 20 ml/m² (~50 m²/l).

• Drying times:

  • Roller application: overcoatable after approx. 60 minutes.

  • Trowel application: overcoatable after approx. 30 minutes.

  • Maximum recoating window: within 24 hours.

• Storage: 5–25 °C, shelf life approx. 12 months in unopened containers.
  

 Areas of Application

Suitable for parquet and wood floors made of nearly all European and many tropical wood species.
Particularly recommended for reducing side-bonding in shear-resistant or elastic adhesive systems.

Not recommended for: fruitwoods, colored softwoods, tropical or chemically/thermally treated woods when used by trowel method.

🛠  Application Instructions

Roller Application

1. Sand the surface properly; wood moisture ≤ 12 %. Surface must be dry, clean, and free of wax, oil, and old finishes.

2. Room temperature: 15–25 °C, relative humidity 40–75 %.

3. Stir well before use; do not dilute.

4. Apply a generous, even coat using a short-pile or microfiber roller.

5. After drying, overcoat with a suitable LOBA water-based finish (e.g. LOBA Viva, Fusion, WS 2K Duo).

Trowel Application

• Apply first coat using a stainless-steel trowel; after drying, apply a second crosswise coat.

• Allow sufficient drying time before finishing.

• Avoid sanding between coats if overcoating directly.
  
  

🔍 Important Notes

• Microfiber rollers reduce application quantity and potential wood swelling.

• Do not intermediate sand the primer if directly overcoating.

• Clean tools immediately with water.

• If drying is delayed, allow full drying before proceeding.

• Pay special attention when applying over critical substrates or aged floors with wide joints.
